Carbon Dioxide Removal has received a lot of attention, which is great, and that community has been factoring into teams (DAC, ocean, etc.). But AFAIK nobody has tried to standardize these efforts into KPIs that everybody can agree on.
There are good reasons for this: many of the most critical subproblems are dependent on design decisions, and design decisions are dependent on assumptions. So one thing I learned in this effort is that getting in the Goldilocks zone of quantifiable, actionable and broadly meaningful is hard. I believe it's doable, and I hope later versions will have subproblems articulated inside it
